There are also certain medical conditions resulting from muscular disorders that render individuals unsuitable for Botulinum Toxin injection. These include but are not limited to Myasthenia Gravis, Esophageal and swallowing disorders, cancers, acute infections (influenza, lung infections, etc.), voice disorders, voice hoarseness, eye movement disorders, and double vision.

No. Botulinum Toxin is a semi-permanent,  less expensive and less invasive and solution to anti-aging. How long the products last and gives an effect varies from patient to patient and depends on many factors including level of physical activity, smoking, stress, etc.

Muscles beneath the skin contract and result in the formation of wrinkles etc. Botulinum Toxin works to essentially paralyse these muscles, resulting in decreased contraction.

Dermal fillers are composed of Hyaluronic acid. This is naturally found in our skin and is a natural moisturizing agent which contributes to skin hydration. It is also able to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water.

In fillers, Hyaluronic acid is engineered according to the depth of the area being injected as well as the result desired. Therefore, fillers can be used to enhance certain facial features (lips, cheeks, chin, forehead) and restore areas of lost volume to create a lifting effect.

Immediate side effects can include; redness, swelling, itching, and pain at the site of the injection. This subsides soon after.

No. This is a marketing gimmick. Glutathione is an antioxidant that is naturally produced by our livers in high quantities in response to stress. It has been found to limit Melanin (pigment) formation in unnaturally high doses.

However, there is no clear cut research on safety and long term efficacy. We also have Melanin present in other places in our body such as our eyes, brain, etc. How the side effects of Glutathione affect these organs is unknown.

It depends on the reason for the dark circles. There are different contributing causes. These can be determined after an examination. Treatment options include Redermalisation, dermal fillers, and micro-needling as well as good home care products.

Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A. It works by gently exfoliating the skin to smooth skin texture which treats and prevents wrinkles and aging. It is also an excellent topical treatment for milder forms of acne and to prevent and treat breakout activity and oily skin.

No. Soap has a very high pH which draws water out of the skin and results in the skin becoming dehydrated and sensitive. This can result in more oil production as a compensatory mechanism. If you are using active ingredients in combination with soap as a cleanser, it can sensitize your skin further which could result in certain adverse effects such as hyperpigmentation and redness.
